It is necessary to be able to Park and Ride. Hamble is a village of great importance to the marine industry. Being able to park and ride easily will enhance Hamble's facilities

My support is for the upgrading of the marina and relating boating services. Not for a hotel.

Hamble Sea Scouts. This is of vital importance to my son and many others. They provide a fantastic opportunity for lots of young people to develop a wide range of life skills and boating skills. For most of the year they are out on the water, kayaking, sailing, power boating and gaining RYA recognised certificates. This develops good character, team leadership and confidence. It was interesting to note at The Redacted text School annual awards this year, that most of the top successful kids were also members of Hamble Sea Scouts, Redacted text. We are not rich enough to provide our own boats or kayaks, so for my son to be able to take part in water activities WITH OTHER young people, is priceless to me. The current facilities are not adequate. The Sea Scouts, need better storage, indoor and outdoor. They need changing facilities, currently this is done behind sheds or bushes, for boys and girls! The use of a classroom for teaching RYA skills and courses is desperately needed. As well as somewhere to shower. Pushing it a bit, would be a small kitchen area to keep the leaders warmed up as they spend so much time down there - voluntarily. Enabling the Marina to redevelop the site would allow them to build a new area for the Sea Scouts. Putting too much restriction on them, won't give them the money to do this for us. Obviously, make it conditional that they would improve the facilities! Many youngsters get so much out of 'local life' down here at Mercury Marina and with the Sea Scouts go on to many nautical careers or the marine industry.

Too much traffic and noise. Hamble Lane cannot cope now!
