Local Plan 2016 - 2036

Closes 6 Aug 2018

Consultation Contents

This is the formal consultation on the Eastleigh Local Plan 2016-2036. It is your opportunity to have your say on whether you agree with proposals and if you think the plan is sound and that we have gone about it in the right way. The purpose of this consultation is to establish whether you support or object to the plan and, if you object, what is the basis for your objection. In particular the planning inspector will be testing the following:

  1. Is the Plan sound?
  2. Has the Plan been prepared properly, meeting all legal requirements?

The Planning Inspectorate require you to explain the reasons for any objection or if you feel the plan is unsound or not meeting any legal requirements, so ensure you are clear when making comments.

Working through the consultation

This is a big consultation. Local Plans encompass everything about the Borough and this makes them very large documents which, necessarily, have lots of detail. We've included all of this information in the consultation as well as in the Local Plan document itself and we have broken this down into sections with the policy information at each point to help with navigating through it.

There are a few mandatory fields, these are marked with the word 'Required' in grey, these are the only parts you must answer to be able to submit your response. As this is a statutory consultation, we must collect certain pieces of personal information such as your name,  address and postcode, so these are included in the mandatory fields.

You may save your response to return to it later at any point using the 'Save and return later' button at the bottom of every page. You will be emailed a link to complete your response which will be valid up to the closing time of the consultation.

This consultation has been broken down into 21 chapters to make it easier for you to complete. Some policies relate to more than one topic and therefore may appear in two or more of the following chapters. However you only need to respond once on each policy.

In order to make this easier, the introductory text at the start of each chapter features a drop-down list entitled "The policies covered in this chapter". As the title suggest, this list details all of the policies covered in that section however, where applicable, it also notes which chapters they are repeated in. In addition to this, we have produced the below spreadsheet which details all of the local plan policies and the chapters in which they appear.

Please note: It is possible to zoom in and scroll around the page on the below preview however, to view the spreadsheet in full screen, you will need to download the file or simply print a copy.
