This is a consultation on the draft Quality Places Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The consultation runs from 5 January 2026 to 16 February 2026.   

Why your views matter

The draft Quality Places SPD sets out Eastleigh Borough Council’s approach to the design of new development. It provides technical guidance on Local Plan policies and will be used as a material consideration in the determination of planning applications. 

The guide is intended for designers, developers, house builders, applicants, council members, and others involved in shaping the built environment. It focuses on the Council's ambition to deliver compact and sustainable development in appropriate locations.
