OHH Design Code Consultation 2025
Overview
Welcome to the One Horton Heath Design Code Survey
The Design Code is a guide for how the new buildings, streets, and public spaces at One Horton Heath should look and feel. It helps ensure everything fits together well and creates a high-quality, attractive, and easy-to-use place for people to live, work, and visit.
The Code covers things like:
- The types and styles of buildings
- Street layouts and parking
- Green spaces, planting, and materials
- How places feel to walk or cycle through
Some parts of the Code are quite detailed to make sure quality is kept high, while other parts are more flexible to allow for different ideas and designs.
The Design Code is a practical tool for everyone involved in shaping the area, including developers, designers, planners, and local people. It provides a shared set of principles to guide development so that it’s consistent, thoughtful, and in keeping with the character of the neighbourhood.
This version of the Design Code is a draft. Your feedback will help shape the final version, making sure it reflects what matters to the local community and those who use the space.
Some things are not included in the Design Code, like housing types (e.g. rented vs owned), service delivery, or planning policies. If you’d like to know more about what’s not covered — and where to go if you have questions on those topics — please read this short guide:

Viewing the Design Code documents
Before you start the survey, we suggest taking a look at the Design Code document as a whole so you can give informed feedback. You'll be able to open these in the next page.
Also to help, the Design Code has been split into smaller high-resolution files based on page numbers. This makes it easier to:
- Zoom in and view plans or images in more detail
- Print individual sections if preferred
- Navigate to the parts that interest you most
You don’t have to answer every question, just the ones that matter most to you. When you’re finished, don’t forget to click the submit button at the end to make sure your answers are saved.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views.
