Central Eastleigh CGR Survey - 2025
Overview
Following a public consultation on the community governance review (CGR) to merge Eastleigh Town Council and Boyatt Wood Parish Council, the creation of a larger decision-making body for the centre of Eastleigh town and the area to the immediate north has been given the go-ahead by Borough Councillors.
We are now inviting residents, businesses and other stakeholders to give us their views on the number of councillors and the boundaries and makeup of electoral wards.
Strengthening town and parish councils, which are the first tier of local democracy, means that householders are represented by elected councillors who are responsible for more tightly drawn areas than the much larger unitary authorities that will be introduced under local government reorganisation. They will also have a greater say in how the budget for local services is spent.
Why your views matter
This survey is designed to give residents an opportunity to provide their views and thoughts. Draft recommendations will be presented to the Borough Council’s Administration Committee for consideration.
We think it is important that local people have a say in the decision-making process, so we would appreciate it if you would take few minutes to answer this short survey.
