Climate Emergency - Business

Eastleigh Borough Council has declared a Climate and Environmental Emergency.

As Sir David Attenborough says, “the scientific evidence is that if we have not taken dramatic action within the next decade, we could face irreversible damage to the natural world and the collapse of our societies."

Climate change poses specific risks to business and other organisation, including rising insurance premiums, supply chain disruption and economic instability. At the same time transitioning to greener technologies has many benefits - from reducing unnecessary waste to improving customer relationships.

The Council has set out targets: to be carbon neutral by 2025 and to support communities and businesses across the Borough to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

We want to know what your organisation is currently doing, what you are willing to do in the near future and what the Council can do to support your business.

Why We Are Consulting

Local businesses and other organisations can play a crucial role in tackling climate change and improving the environment.

This consultation covers areas where local businesses can take action - from making their operations more environmental friendly and sourcing materials sustainably to supporting employees to use less polluting ways of getting to work.

By helping us to better understand this, together we can take Eastleigh into a carbon neutral, greener future.
